Power Lift Gate Will Not Remain Open

2009 Chrysler Aspen Power Lift Gate will operate both manually ans by Power but will not remain open.

It has to be supported by hand to keep it up,otherwise it slowly comes down.

WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM?

This clearly indicates problem with the Struts.
The liftgate struts are weak. The struts are long the gas charged pieces that you see that run between the body and the liftgate on each side when you open it. The power liftgate actuator assembly starts the opening process, but the actual holding up of the liftgate, whether opened under power or manually, is the job of the liftgate struts.

BUT WHY THE STRUTS ARE NOT OPERATING?

Over time they become weak and can no longer do their job and need to be replaced. Its a common problem.Replacing your liftgate struts will be necessary to repair your problem.

This details will help.
Thanks.
