Ford Explorer Cylinder Misfire?

If you notice any of single cylinder is misfiring. Then try switch good and bad cylinder with each other and see if same problem noticed on Good cylinder.

There are few basics to check for rectifying the  single-cylinder misfire problem.
If all checks ok then issue is with fuel injector.
Try this test procedure:---------
You will require a Ohms meter to process this Test procedure.

  • Unplug the electrical connector to the injector and take an reading across the two blades on the injector.
If the resistance reading is not between 11-18ohms, the Injector is the culprit and will need to be replaced.
  • If the injector passes this test, next you should look for intake air leaks around the cylinder. With the engine running, carefully and sparingly spray some carb cleaner around the base of the intake around the cylinder.
If the misfire eases up, you will need to replace the intake gasket.

If there are no intake leaks found, the next step is to run a cylinder compression test.Compression test will confirm which cylinder is faulty or not giving exact performance.

This details will help.
Thanks.
