Air Temperature Door removing on 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt?


Air Temperature Door


Removal & Installation


  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).

    Fig. Remove the steering column opening filler assembly, with clip, & bumper
  3. Remove the steering column opening filler assembly (1) by pulling away the clips (2).
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector for the trunk release.

  5. Disconnect the air temperature actuator electrical connector.
  6. Remove the air temperature actuator screws.
  7. Remove the air temperature actuator.
To install:

NOTE
The key should be in the OFF position when connecting the electrical connectors to ensure proper calibration.

  1. Install the air temperature actuator. Tighten the assembly screws to 19 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  2. Connect the air temperature actuator electrical connector.
  3. Install the steering column opening filler assembly (1):
    1. Connect the electrical connector for the trunk release.
    2. Install the filler assembly in place by pushing in the clips (2).
  4. Install the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).
    NOTE
    Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control assembly while the HVAC control assembly and actuators are calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.
  5. Start the engine and let run for one minute.
